We do not know whether it is at all relevant, in his case, to tackle his work from the standpoint of a linguistic analysis or of an historiographic interpretation within the framework of a post-contemporary era that overturns all the criteria of everything into nothing – and of nothing into everything. If we take a step backwards and venture behind the work of this artist, of this man, we realise that nothing touches Lucchetta within the parameters of academism, of art history or of the history of society as it evolves and of the evolution of the world that escapes us. Self-taught, Lucchetta maintains close bonds with the reality that surrounds him and that he brings to life. It may seem to be paradoxically almost belittling to depart from this apparently infantile yet true authenticity of his, whose strength is actually in the fact that he does not give way to art’s moments of fragility, those moments when themes, styles and languages all decay into mere fashionable fads. This artist from the Veneto region paints the personal feelings and emotions that he himself experiences when he encounters the concept of otherness, with not a trace of cosmetic camouflage or vanity. Indeed, it is from his interaction with the humanity that envelopes him that he starts out to give substance to curiosity and observation, with such capacity as to overcome the social dimension and convey the human.
