An Iranian artist of Armenian origins, Alina Mnatsakanian traces her visual improvisations on the theme of transgenerational migration and the signs left by the stratified layers of her diversified experiences in the framework of the diaspora of the Armenian people onto digital tablets and projects them into the space, while Barbara Minder employs these improvisations as the basis of her work, using sound and body to reinterpret the places that Alina coaxes forth, breathing life into parallel geographical situations, which for both artists – each reflecting on the places dear to her own memory and infancy – have an existential reason in the present.
