UNPAINTED. THOUGHTS ON PAINTING IN THE POST-TECHNOLOGICAL AGE.
Lecture-round table. Sunday 8 May 2011 at 5.00 p.m.
The art historians GIUSEPPE CARRUBBA and SANDRA SOLIMANO, former director of Villa Croce Museum of Contemporary Art in Genoa, are the lecturers.
UNPAINTED. THOUGHTS ON PAINTING IN THE POST-TECHNOLOGICAL AGE is the title of this lecture-round table, whose topic relates in particular to the new approaching to painting among the younger generation of artists. This is probably also the need of artists and collectors wishing flashing back to figuration.
The current show at CACT entitled UNPAINTED devoted to the artist Francesca Guffanti (1962) is the excuse to put up a discussion around painting within contemporary artistic languages dominated by technological aesthetics.
